UNESCO Global Geoparks Network

The worldwide family of UNESCO Global Geoparks, which Rinjani-Lombok joined in 2018.

UNESCO Global Geoparks are designated under UNESCO's International Geoscience and Geoparks Programme. Members of the Global Geoparks Network share experience, take part in each other's evaluations and work together on education, geotourism and disaster-risk awareness. Every four years each geopark is revalidated; Rinjani-Lombok was recommended for a Green Card in 2025 and received the certificate in 2026.
